Drive where you’ll be tested. If you know where your driving skills test is going to be held, make sure you drive in that area and familiarize yourself with the speed limits, street signs, and any potential hazards. You’ll want to minimize surprises on exam day.

Give your car an inspection the night before the exam - make sure the windshield and windows are clean, adjust your mirrors and check the AC, turn signal, wipers, lights, defrost, emergency brake, horn and hazard lights to make sure they’re all in functional condition.

Put together a pre-test packet the night before. Assemble all of the necessary paperwork like your proof of registration, insurance and permit the night before the exam and either place it in your car or have it set out so you don’t have to worry about finding them in the morning before going to take your test.
