Oregon DMV FAQ

What is an Oregon REAL ID?

A REAL ID is a driver’s license or ID that will allow the owner to access certain federally operated locations such as domestic flights and certain federal buildings. Oregon residents can obtain a REAL ID driver’s license when obtaining or renewing their license.

Can I renew my Oregon state driver’s license online?

No, there is not an online option for renewing a driver’s license in Oregon. You must visit an Oregon DMV field office to go through the renewal process.

What documents do I need to get an Oregon driver’s license?
The documents required to get a license in Oregon depends on whether you wish to register for REAL ID. If you want a REAL ID, you need proof of identity, proof of liability insurance, your SSN, and two documents to prove Oregon residency. In addition, marriage certificates, etc., can be used for name changes. A valid U.S. passport is the most reliable form of identification, but a full list can be found here for REAL ID and here for standard licenses.
