CDL Practice Tests

If you’ve signed up for a CDL training program you have undoubtedly already thought about the CDL test. We have assembled an excellent CDL test prep resource with our collection of CDL practice tests. We offer a practice test with questions and answers for all categories of the CDL test, including those to the right.  Click any of those links to be taken directly to that CDL sub-test.

After taking each test you’ll receive a score and the questions along with the correct answers to gauge your progress. If you want to learn the specific requirements for your state, we recommend visiting your state’s specific CDL page by navigating to your state from the “Drivers license practice test” link in the main navigation and then selecting {your state} CDL test in the page navigation. There you can find out specifics related to your state’s CDL requirements as well as any specific Class A CDL test, Class B CDL test, or the Class C CDL test. Our free CDL training practice tests, like the rest of the resources on this site, are free to take as often as you’d like.

About The CDL Test

To earn your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), you’ll need to pass both a driving skills test as well as your state’s general knowledge test along with any additional endorsement tests that accompany the license you seek. The tests vary in the number of questions, but typically you need to achieve a score of 80% or better to pass.

Studying For The CDL Test

The most important piece of CDL prep material that you can spend time with is your state’s CDL manual. It’s critical that you have a copy of your state’s current version of the manual. It contains all of the vital information you’ll need to know to pass both the knowledge tests as well as the skills test. On top of that, it will contain all of the latest info on eligibility, requirements, and testing methods that come along with earning a CDL in your specific state.

If you’re putting together a homemade CDL study guide, you won’t get far without your state’s CDL manual. A quick Google search should help you find the most recent version.
