Nevada DMV FAQ

What is a REAL ID in Nevada state?

Having a REAL ID means that drivers can chose to have licenses and IDs issued in Nevada able to be used to fly and any other requirements for federal identification. This is for security reasons, and by October 2021, all identification must be compliant if you want to use it for the TSA or other federal agencies. It is completely optional for Nevada residents.

Can I renew my Nevada state driver’s license online?

You can renew your Nevada state driver’s license online using the Nevada DMV’s online services which are linked above.

What documents do I need to get a Nevada state driver’s license?
A wide range of documents can be used as identification when getting your license. You will need a valid passport or another document to prove your identity, two documents to prove your address in Nevada such as bank statements and pay stubs, and proof of your social security number. Additional documents may be needed depending on the type of ID.
