Vermont DMV hours vary by location, though many operate Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:00pm. We recommend calling your local branch in advance to verify hours before making the trip. This particular government agency has moved a number of tasks online to help you utilize their services more efficiently. Vermont’s online services can be accessed through their myDMV portal. For renewal, bring your current license. If you’re obtaining a new license you will need proof of identity (such as a state issued picture ID like a U.S. passport), along with proof of residency,  date of birth, and social security number.

Vermont’s myDMV online service portal does allow for online renewal of both driver’s licenses and IDs. You can also replace lost IDs or licenses via their online services.
