How To Get A Mississippi Motorcycle License

This site offers a Mississippi motorcycle practice test to help people working toward their Mississippi motorcycle permit or Mississippi motorcycle license. To be a licensed rider you’ll need to earn a regular class R license, and then a motorcycle endorsement on top of that license. To do so, you’ll need to complete a written knowledge test as well as a road test where you’ll need to demonstrate your skills. Applicants that are 17 and 18 will need a parent or guardian’s signature and proof of a finished driver’s training program before being eligible to take the endorsement test.

Once you’ve moved to Mississippi, you have 60 days to transfer your out of state motorcycle license. You’ll need to visit your nearest Mississippi DPS office to do so. You may be able to waive the written and skills portion of the exam if you already have a valid license from another state. Contact the nearest DPS location for more details.

The Southern MS Motorcycle Training course offers another option for earning your motorcycle license endorsement in Mississippi. This organization also provides classes for riders of all level. You can schedule classes with them that include classroom time, on cycle instruction as well as written and skills tests. Once you’ve completed a state approved driver’s permit and license course the next step to gaining your license is passing the knowledge test. The types of test questions you’ll see will include recognition of road signs as well as testing your knowledge of how to operate a motorcycle safely, identify and use appropriate safety gear, and have a knowledge of safety statistics. The practice tests on this site are designed to mimic the types of questions you’ll see on the Mississippi motorcycle license test, and the tests are free, so take them as often as you like from your mobile device or computer.

The Mississippi on-cycle skills tests are conducted by the Mississippi Office of Highway Safety. You can find their contact information on their website if you’d like to schedule a skills test.
