If you want to legally take the streets in Arizona on a motorcycle you’re going to need to demonstrate a basic understanding of the state’s driving laws along with your knowledge and skill when it comes to managing a bike on Arizona roads. To get an M class motorcycle license endorsement in Arizona you must complete a motorcycle driver education program approved by the Arizona MVD (Motor Vehicle Division) and be at least 18 years old. If you’re between 16 and 18 the applicant must have had a valid driving instruction permit for at least six months before applying and must complete 30 hours of riding practice. Additionally, drivers will have to pass the Arizona motorcycle license test as well as the state written test to earn their endorsement. Click the "Start Test" button below to begin.

How To Get an Arizona Motorcycle License

Passing the Arizona motorcycle test will take practice, and it helps if you have the right tools while you practice. This site’s Arizona motorcycle practice test is designed to assist in your studying efforts as you get ready to take the test. Each practice test is completely free and contains the same types of questions you’ll see on the actual test. The actual test consists of 30 questions (multiple choice) and you’ll need to get at least 25 right, or 83% to pass. Keep practicing until you can consistently answer at a rate that will allow you to pass the test.

Another option for earning your Arizona motorcycle license is taking a course through Team Arizona’s motorcycle school & training classes. This accredited motorcycle training school has locations across the state and offers riding coaches and courses for riders of all skill and experience levels. You can visit their website for more info on available courses and sign up for a class to go through their training courses and testing to earn your license. If you are licensed to drive a motorcycle in another state that required a skills test demonstration you will be exempt from the driver education/driving practice and instruction permit requirements. If you have questions, contact your local ADOT office using the link above.

Arizona Motorcycle License Test Tips

This site’s focus is on assisting you in your efforts to pass the knowledge test portion of the Arizona motorcycle permit test, though there is also the on-cycle skills test as well (more on that below). The purpose of this portion of the exam is to make sure you have the requisite knowledge to safely handle yourself on a cycle before setting you loose on the nation’s highways. The types of test questions you’ll see on the test cover everything from understanding how to properly use motorcycle gear, appropriate actions while riding your motorcycle, as well as a knowledge of safety statistics.

The Arizona on-cycle skills tests are conducted off street and consists of a 10-15 minute demonstration to show your ability to follow instructions and maneuver a motorcycle. You can schedule your skills test by contacting your local ADOT location. Common skills you may be asked to demonstrate during your skills test include your ability to brake and turn safely, adjust speed in traffic, and make necessary maneuvers to see and be seen by your fellow motorists.
