How To Get An Indiana Drivers License

In Indiana, driver’s licenses are administered by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Applicants who are 15 years of age and enrolled in a driver’s education course may be eligible to obtain a learner’s permit. Additionally, candidates must provide the proper documentation and have a signed affidavit by someone who is at least 18 years of age and whom the candidate resides. Finally, candidates must be pass a vision test along with the knowledge examination.Those with a learner’s permit may drive as long as they are accompanied by a driver’s education instructor, verified relative how is 25 years of age or older, or a spouse who is 21 years or older who holds a valid driver’s license. If a candidate is between 16 and 18 years old and now in a driver’s education course, you may practice driving with a driver who has a valid driver’s license and who is at least 25 years or older. If a candidate is 18 years old or older, they must accompanied by someone who is at least 25 years or older who possess valid driver’s license or by a spouse provided they hold a valid driver’s license.Those who hold a learner’s permit for 180 days are eligible to gain a probationary driver’s license. Those under the age of 18 must also have a co-signer for financial liability and a log of supervised driving. Those you are 16 years and 90 days of age and have completed a driver’s education program may get a probationary driver’s license. Those who have not undertaken a driver’s education program may not obtain a probationary driver’s license until they are 16 years and 270 days of age. If you are 21 years or older, the driver’s license is not probationary.

Those obtaining a driver’s license must pass a driving skills test. Driving skills test must be scheduled and candidates must arrive 15 minutes early prior to the test.
