How To Get A Kansas Drivers License

In Kansas, driver’s licenses are administered by the Kansas Department of Revenue Division of Vehicles. Those looking to drive a motor vehicle in the state of Kansas must possess a valid driver’s license. In Kansas, teen drivers must follow a graduated driving process. Candidates that are 14 years old may gain an instruction permit with the proper documentation and parental approval. Additionally, candidates must pass a vision test, as well as a written exam. Those with an instruction permit must always have a properly licensed adult with them at all times.Drivers may have an instruction permit at ages 14, 15, and 16. Driver’s education completion is not required for an instruction permit. Those who are 17 ages and up may obtain an instruction permit by passing both a written and vision test, and the proper documentation. Driver’s education completion is also not required for an instruction permit. Additionally, those that are 17 years of age and up are not required to have parental approval. Those who are 17 ages and up may obtain an instruction permit by passing both a written and vision test, and the proper documentation. Drivers don’t have to have a 50 hour affidavit, but they must have at least 25 hours of driving time. Drivers may go anywhere as they are accompanied with a supervising adult who is 21. Drivers may drive to and from to work and to or from school when school is in session. Driver’s with a restricted driver’s license may not transport any passengers who aren’t siblings. Drivers may obtain a less restricted privileges license if they are 16 years old but less than 17. They must have passed a vision test, and must have passed a written examination or have completed a driver’s education course. Parent approval is not required. Drivers must have had a instruction permit for at least one year. An affidavit for 50 hours of driving must be provided. Drivers with a less restricted privileges license may drive anywhere between the hours of 5 AM and PM. They may drive anytime to school or a school related activity, anytime going to or from work, anytime going to or from a religious activity, or anytime when accompanied by a supervised adult who is over 21.
